Better yet, just make a big 8. Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Overkill, Exodus, Flotsam & Jetsam, and Testament.

There, everybody wins.

I dunno man, that just seems like overkill to me. :neverusethis:
That's like a mass exodus of thrash.  :neverusethis:
Or a mega slaying of metal. :neverusethis:

Ultimetalhead

Careful, Birch. We don't want bosk to send you a letter filled with Anthrax. :neverusethis:

Birch Boy

That'll definitely cause at least a megadeath of damage. :neverusethis:

bosk1

Nah, I just send letters containing spam bombs that knock spammers' post counts down to zero.

Ultimetalhead

That cuts real deep, bosky. Real deep.

bosk1

The emote or the fact that you have 1 post?

Ultimetalhead

Meh, either or really.

bosk1

I'll put it back.  But please stop postwhoring now.

Ultimetalhead

I'm really not sure how posting one continuation of a joke is considered post whoring, but hell. Whatever maintains the buoyancy of your aquatic vessel.

bosk1

The joke has gone on for almost a page, and nearly half of it is your posting.  Not a huge deal (especially once you stopped the quote pyramiding).  You know I'm pretty lenient about that.  But it's long since run its course, and now just looks like running up post count, IMO, so I'm kindly asking you to stop now.

SICK news from their website!

Quote2011 marks the 25th anniversary of Megadeth's second album, "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?!" So will the band tour behind that as well like they did for the 20th anniversary of "Rust In Peace" last year? Dave Mustaine told VH1 Radio Networks' Dave Basner, "We've already had people talk to us about doing that and I told our manager that I'm totally interested in doing 'Peace Sells' for a 25th anniversary this year but I don't want to do it all year like we did with 'Rust in Peace'. I want to do it towards the end of the year. So we'll do the whole year doing our thing and then come around October, where the end of the year is, you've got a quarter of the year left, October, November and December, where we can do the 'Peace Sells' thing."

Zook

Arent there songs on that album that he doesn't play anymore because of his religion?

IMO there should just be a big 3 - Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer. Its pretty definate that they are the 3 biggest thrash metal bands.

The King in Crimson

I don't get the hate for Anthrax. True, they were not as consistently good as Megadeth or Slayer (and Metallica, to a lesser extent), but they did much more interesting things with their music than Slayer ever did.

Holy fucking shit fuck. If this means they are playing The Conjuring and GM/BF, I am not missing this for the world.

Global Laziness

I'm still pissed that I missed Rust in Peace. When they played in Halifax last summer, I was in Ottawa, and when they played in Montreal (close enough to Ottawa that I would have gone), I was in Halifax.

Megadeth is the band that got me into metal and Rust in Peace was the main reason for that. I've been listening to metal for five and a half years now thanks to Megadeth and I still haven't seem them live. Bah.

Ultimetalhead

Rust in Peace was amazing live. No breaks in the action, just thrash classic after thrash classic. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Following it up with Slayer was even better.

Oh fuck, if they pair up with Slayer again so they can do Reign in Blood, I will die of pure metal overload.

That's true, but when I think of Anthrax, it's easy to get frustrated because they were a band that consistantly shot themselves in the foot along the way. Give them credit for the willingness to change things up, but the band couldn't get out of its own way since the let Joey go.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

First two lineups of Thrax = their best.

FYI, there's talk of a Peace Sells tour.

Listening to United Abominations for the first time in...probably a year. It's still awesome, and I still have no idea why the hell anybody would have a problem with it.

zxlkho

I love United Abominations. It's actually in my top 5 Megadeth albums, and it's better than Endgame.
