That's the same video they had live on the screen on the Time Machine tour.  (it's also on the Time Machine DVD/BluRay)

I love those videos...they are reason enough to attend any Rush concert.

Just stumbled on this video:

WTF? :lol

That's what you get for not paying attention and being a fake Rush fan at these shows. :lol. Don't let your Rush buds know!

Shattered Glass

On Friday, a friend of mine passed - he was 62.  The funny (considering who he was) but sad thing was that his love of yum cha and chips is what probably ending his life way too soon.  But yesterday, after his funeral, I was scanning my mp3 for good songs about this, one that did hit the spot was 'The Garden' by Rush
"The measure of a life is a measure of love and respect"
Thanks Rush for that ...
(CA does have heaps of nail on the head songs I've found ..)

Thanks for sharing that Shattered Glass.  Very touching.

Sorry to hear about your friend, man. And yeah, to me, Rush is one of the very few bands that hit the spot when I need something emotional yet meaningful.

The Letter M

So I just made up this set list (just under 160 minutes long, not including videos/intros/outros, intermission, opening and closing videos), trying to come up with songs that they might play from the new album, following prior setlists and song choices, including songs that might make the best use out of a string ensemble throughout the whole concert.

Enjoy!

Set 1 (approximately 68:15)
1. Working Man
2. Limelight
3. Secret Touch
4. Nobody's Hero
5. Between The Wheels
6. Clockwork Angels
7. Seven Cities of Gold
8. The Pass
9. Bravado
10. Manhattan Project
11. Jacob's Ladder

Set 2 (approximately 89:25)
1. Caravan
2. BU2B
3. The Anarchist
4. Halo Effect
5. The Wreckers
6. Lock And Key
7. Time And Motion
8. Losing It
9. Headlong Flight
10. (Drum Solo)
11. Headlong Flight Cont (with extended bass solo)
12. BU2B2
13. The Spirit Of Radio ->
14. Tom Sawyer

Super late to the party.

Just want to say this album is awesome.  The craft of the music is extraordinary.  And I love the mix.

Last song makes me feel emotional.

You can read the preview to the Clockwork Angels novel.

My reaction: It was okay

Perpetual Change

Wasn't very impressed with it, honestly.

Despite the guy's reputation, I actually do like quite a bit of his stuff. But the prose of this preview was very clunky. Lots of those characteristic "smart" adjectives tossed around, and no shortage of info-dumping.

I'll probably still get it, because it'd be fun to read alongside the album. Just not sure it'd be very good as a "stand-alone" book.

Phoenix87x

I never really cared for his Star Wars novels, so I didn't really have high expectations for the CA novel, but yeah the preview is kinda meh.

SystematicThought

I guess you guys summed up my reactions. It just felt kind of forced to me.

I kind of had one of these moments :facepalm: when I read the lines:
"Do we have to watch the streamliners go by everyday?"
"It's too small, I can't stop thinking big."

I guess the incorporation of lyrics into the writing just seems too forced...

Phoenix87x

I think I'd rather have the manifestation of the concept left to my imagination rather then have everything spelled out in novel form.

I think that's why, as of now, I don't plan to read it  -- I never even read the preview except for the first sentence (although I pre-ordered the Gold Edition and will get the Audio book.) This is such a special record to me that I don't want to ruin it for myself.

As fate would have it, my son wants to read it so I might pick up a cheap copy somewhere.

SystematicThought

Well, I think the audio book will be great because Neil is reading it, but the words alone in a book don't do much for me. Like I said too, it feels a bit forced.

The Curious Orange

I'd guess at:

Tom Sawyer
Force Ten
Chain Lightning
Animate
Leave That Thing Alone
Clockwork Angels
The Wreckers
Freewill
Marathon
~~~~~
Caravan
BU2B
the Anarchist
Seven Cities of Gold
Distant Early Warning
Subdivisions
Headlong Flight
Drum Solo
Jacob's Ladder
Limelight
The Spirit of Radio
~~~~~
Far Cry
YYZ
Red Sector A
