The only reason I even have a current generation console is that I was able to get a 360 super cheap from a friend that didn't want his anymore, and it's pretty much just a clunky machine I play Rock Band on anymore. Almost all of my gaming for the past 5 or so years has been on the PC, and if I were to ever actually buy anything else to play games on it'd be a DS (or the 3DS depending on how that turns out).  :heart Pokemon, and Dragon Quest IX seems pretty awesome from the little bit I've seen.

But, really, I have trouble justifying buying any kind of console. I only buy 1 or 2 games a year at the absolute most, so those games would have to be ridiculously replayable (like Pokemon or Rock Band) to make up for the cost of the console.

Just played Donkey Kong Country Returns for the first time and played until halfway the second world. The game is absolutely amazing. It does everything perfect, music and graphics are fantastic, difficulty level is perfect and the controls/gameplay are really really good as well. Retro studios does it once again.

I recommend this game to everyone with a Wii. If this awesomeness continues after world 2 (and it probably will), this can turn out to be one of my favorites games on the Wii and maybe all-time.

Graphics are perfect sure. Until you put it in dolphin and it looks much nicer.

Well, that was a letdown and I don't even own a Wii. Although for a review that talks about how horrible the game is to play, a 3 out of 5 doesn't make much sense at all. Then again, I was never a big fan of scores.

You should get Donkey Kong first, it's amazing.

PlaysLikeMyung

Believe me I'll be getting both. But I've been more excited for Epic Mickey for some reason

DKCR is awesome... my friend and I played through the first "world" the other day and we couldn't put it down. Can't wait to play through the rest!

Also, almost done Goldeneye Wii.  :metal

My bro bought Kirbys Epic Yarn and said its boring. Kinda childish is his exact words. But Donkey Kong Returns seems worthwhile.

I enjoyed Epic Yarn but there is hardly any challenge in it. Donkey Kong however is quite hard and imo better. The further I get, the more I think it might be one of my favorite Wii games.

I played through DKCR with my brother last weekend.  We had a blast.

Great game and a good challenge, my only real complaints would be that there could have been a little more variety in the level themes, and that shaking the remote to roll and stuff was pretty annoying.

Always loved the nes, but I was a sega boy at heart.  But I loved going to my friends and playing the nintendo.

Off topic but the thread title instantly reminded me off this video.

Its ok, its fun in small doses, but there really is no challenge to it. So when you complete a level, it doesn't really feel "rewarding". Thus, I haven't been playing it too much.

I heard in Kirby's Epic Yarn you literally cannot die. True?

What would be the point of this?

I haven't died yet. I have no idea if you can or not. But honestly it would be pretty hard to die.  :lol There really is no challenge, the only thing that would be any challenge would be getting the find 100% of the items.

Its kinda fun to play, but for maybe like 10 minutes at a time... if you're bored. Theres no way it should cost 45+ dollars.

I heard that the Wii is a terrible gaming system.  True?

You cannot die, only lose all the stuff you collected in the level.

I wish they would stop using Kirby to test out their stupid new ideas and just make a GOD DAMN KIRBY GAME. If any Nintendo game needs a new-gen remake like New Super Mario Bros., it's Kirby's Adventure.

Ħ

So I got Pokemon Stadium, and I'm using it in conjunction with all three GB games.

Starting Pika Cup after finals...my team is Mr. Mime, Nidoking, Gyarados, Tentacool, Rhyhorn, and Clefable.  I am excited.

Ooh that'd be cool. Kirby's air-ride was so bad

Definitely. Kirby's Epic Yarn had potential, but there really is very little gameplay value. Also, as far as I know, you can't even do Kirby's signature copying move. WTF.

YES, THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!

Ultimetalhead

I was okay with Kirby Air Ride, but it's not a Kirby game. Every Kirby game released since the 2000s has either been a remake of Kirby's Adventure or some dumbass gimmick test. I wish they'd stop it.

ZBomber

Honestly, maybe they should just stop making Kirby games. I like Kirby, but... if they can't even make an original and fun Kirby game, then why bother?

What did you guys think of Kirby 64?

Ultimetalhead

Kirby 64 was the last good Kirby game, but god DAMN WAS IT GOOD.

OK, has anyone here played Metroid: Other M? I ordered it on amazon a week ago for 25 bucks, and its the first wii game I've legally bought in 2 years.  :lol Is it any good?
