I just read that it is open to the first million to register on July 31st. Here's to refreshing at 12:00:01 on that day.

She is planning on releasing a Harry Potter Encyclopedia. Everything you want to know that is both in and out of the books. For example, how to make a Horcrux.

Oh boy...I can see that turning into a press nightmare for her if some kid gets caught trying to actually do it.

:lol

If kid's are that dumb, there's a problem. And when I mean "how" all I mean is the spell and procedure. I don't anybody will be killing anybody to have eternal life.

Gadough

I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. At all. Some sick-in-the-head kid tries it, the parents claim that Rowling encouraged it by detailing how to do it...not to mention religious fanatics who would be up in arms about it regardless of the consequences.

Just saw the movie, I think it was good, but a few notes:

*Even though I enjoyed the movie as a whole, it did remind me of my biggest problem with the movies - a lot of the side characters haven't gotten the right amount of time on screen.
Obviously it's impossible to re-create a book completely in a movie, but there are characters that play much bigger roles in the books (Remus Lupin is one example that comes to mind), but then in the movie he's just dead, and I doubt many in the crowd would care.
I mean, when I read the books it was sad that he died, but he didn't get much screen-time during the later movies, and for those who have only seen the movies - he's a nobody really.
This counts for many other characters as well, when some reach their "important" scene, many people would go "wtf, who is this guy?" seeing as they hadn't been featured a lot on screen before.

*A bit related to the previous part, I felt like both Ron and Hermione had much fewer lines in the movie then I had expected. In the end it felt like they had maybe 5 minutes of dialogue, compared to Harry who had probably around 1 ½ hour or something.
Yeah he's the main character, blabla, but Ron and Hermione are still his side-kicks, or whatever.

*Some WTF-scenes. Voldemort shouting "Avada Kedavra" in the forbidden forest made me lol, and let's not even talk about when he hugs Draco.

Gadough

I agree with you about Ron and Hermione not having enough to say. Also, did Bellatrix say anything at all? I can't remember her ever speaking. Which is a shame, because she's easily my favorite evil character. I like her more than Voldemort.

the death scene with remus and tonks had my entire theater crying and i couldn't help but laugh

Super Dude

Saw it again, same opinion. I wanted entertainment and entertainment I got.
On the subject of Part One however, still love it but just thought of a complaint: I wish Harry seeing his parents' grave had been a more major moment.

That scene DOES happen off-screen (or page, if you will). But Fred's death scene DOES happen in front of us, and they ruined it. It could have been dealt with a LOT better

Well I meant the scene when they are walking through the hall and everyone is just sad and dying. It just seemed to fake and forced to me, and everyone taking it so seriously in my theater just totally  ruined the moment for me :lol

AcidLameLTE

Me and Tahlia saw it again tonight (her third time seeing it D: ) and loads of people were laughing at stuff in the film. It was pretty funny.

Example: when the Voldemort fetus thing appears, one guy tried to muffle a laugh and then the entire cinema burst out laughing. It was awesome.

Zantera

A couple of plot holes or whatever that bothered me, I mentioned some of them in the Facebook-chat:

*What did Cho Chang do at Hogwarts?
In the books she is 1 year older then Harry, so she shouldn't have been at the school at all, seeing as she graduated the year before.

*How did Luna arrive at Hogwarts before Harry?
When Harry, Ron and Hermione arrive at Hogwarts, Luna is already there.

*At Gringotts, why didn't they just show/use Bellatrix's wand?
They had it already, but instead they went on a rampage by using Imperio.

AcidLameLTE

I assumed they didn't just hand over the wand because they assumed that the wand was going to be taken off them so they could no longer use it or something.

Cho was at Hogwarts because odds are, they made her the same year as the gang for the plot of the movie, the same thing they did with Katie Bell.

In the book, they showed the wand and that is how they knew they were imposters, because Bellatrix reported her wand stolen so it seemed odd that she had it again.

Ah, that is correct.  :tup

One small pet peeve:

WHO THE FUCK WAS THE TOKEN BLACK GUY WHO'S NOT CRABBE?

73109

Gadough

Doesn't Crabbe die at some point in the books, while Goyle survives? Or vice-versa? Maybe it has something to do with that.

Super Dude

Theory:

That is a dude named Lee Jordan, who apparently is devastated by Fred's death at the Battle of Hogwarts.

No. Goyle dies in the 7th book because of the fieynd(sp)fire he casts in the room of requirement.

Sigz

Yeah, it was Lee Jordan. He was best friends with Fred and George, ran Potterwatch, and also did the commentary at the Quidditch games in the earlier books.

73109

No...he is talking about the black dude who went in the Room of Requirement with Malfoy and Goyle. It was not Lee Jordan.

Sigz

Oh, it's Zabini, isn't it? He was on the Slytherin quidditch team in one of the earlier movies (I think the sixth one?).

QuoteIn Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Blaise will be present in the fight in the Room of Requirement, in exchange of Vincent Crabbe, whose actor was sentenced to 120 hours of community services.

Fucking lol
