only here would people go right for the artwork..

majesty symbol on the clouds?
In my defence, it's mainly 'cause I can't listen to the music quite yet. :p So it's a manifestation of excitement! Plus I'm a little relieved, 'cause Hugh Syme's usually ace for booklet art, but I've been kind of dismayed by what we've seen up until now.

this is the DT album I've been waiting for
DAT DJENT riff

i guess you can call it that. he doesnt use the 'djent' chord though
haha yeah and doesn't have the misha axe fx compression gain etc. but rhythmically so techanical... so power energy

Dynia

I like it. Love the bass, and JLB sounds awesome, too.

chrisbDTM

this snippet rules. hard

also knight on camel. awesome haha

tri.ad

Nice bass groove at the end.

I wasn't particularly thrilled this time, but it doesn't really matter to me. It still has potential to be a terrific song, I mean, there are still nine minutes left, right?

Tis BOOLsheet

sounds really great minus the lyrics and labrie, but thats old news. im extremely excited for this album. called roadrunner to make sure that the preorders would be here on the 13th by the absolute latest lol.

IJewBear

I definitely can see this song turning out to be an UAGM type feel. Sweet.

wasteland

This is really surprising, actually. I especially dig JLB's work and MM's final fill. If the songs keeps the same level it will rank among the best metal driven DT song of this century!

ReaperKK

I really wasn't digging the first half but once the riff kicked in at :38 it changed my opinion.

Are you kidding me? I thought JLB sounded fantastic! Listen to the very end, while it's fading, he goes into the higher octave, I personally think each member is using their musicianship to its full potential in this album. I believe we're in for a treat.

i think we're in for a treat too. i think this is going to be their best album since scenes. labrie has sounded the same since falling into infinity; old and tired.

Uhm... I really want to see A7X pull off the technicality of ANY section of this song, let alone album.

on seconds listening not as much but between 0:03 - 0:09, just sounded pretty A7Xish in my opinion. the rest of the song is awesome though, this album is going to be incredible judging from the snippets :tup

Metropolis pt.-1

Tasty technical Dream Theater. I love it  :metal

DarkLord_Lalinc

OsMosis2259

Diggin the Misha influenced Djenty riff  :metal

As has been pointed out to you by other users, this kind of post violates Rule 12 of the forum.  I suggest you read the rules before posting any further (especially since SEVERAL of your 10 posts on this forum violate the rule).  This is not the place for insulting James LaBrie (or any other current or former member of DT).

???  I don't get the "haha" part.  Given that the song is about the ancient Persian army, the image makes perfect sense.  I'm not getting what's funny about it.

no idea they actually did that. doesnt make sense to hold the spear, unless camels are fast. no idea. my first thought was syme being quirky. i thought it was a horse first glance

This is not funny anymore. They're teasing us with those snippets and every following one is better than the previous. I want this album already !

No worries.  James Labrie has sounded the same, well since I&W.  I'm not sure why he sounds so much like James Labrie on all these albums.
