Sir GuitarCozmo

This is one of the greatest mashups ever.  This might even be a better fit than the "I'm a Believer/The Trooper" mashup.  Holy crap this is excellent.  Imagine + Jump.

So I just checked, and, uh, you are one of the two who haven't sent.

I heard that a while back and was blown away at how the two meshed. Pretty cool!

That was good, but I still greatly dislike Van Halen, but moreso David Lee Roth.

Jump is one of my favourite all time songs, so I was worried this was going to butcher it, but luckily it was just the vocals and it turned out alright. Thank god we have Rock Band / Guitar Hero stems to make this kind of mashup really easy now (not sure where they got the Imagine backing track, or whether they just mixed the channels).
As long as you've got two songs in the same key (or can shift it closely enough), similar tempo, and with chord progressions that sorta work together, these mashups can turn out really well like this.

All true.  But it's still impressive as hell when two songs, completely different in so many ways, ending up fitting together so perfectly.  The changes, the way the melody works with and against the chords, including the chorus; it still seems quite rare that you'd get such a great match on all counts.

I'm always on the fence about what I'm more impressed with, how well it works (when it does work), or the person who heard it in his head and realized that it would work and took the trouble to do the work.  Probably the former, since I imagine there are lots of guys out there who sit and try all kinds of mashups, the vast majority of which don't work.  You get a great one like this, though, and wow.

Sir GuitarCozmo

Another excellent one I found yesterday, albeit not quite as perfect.  Ghostbusters + Thunderstruck.  Works 100x better than I'd ever have imagined.

:lol That's my favorite AC/DC song. It's a great combination

Jaq

The Van Halen/John Lennon one is GREAT.

But the AC/DC-Ghostbusters one is legendary  :rollin

Here's a Beatles / GnR one that seemed pretty good, although I have absolutely no clue what the original Beatles song sounds like.

This does not compute.

Not everyone knows what every Beatles song sounds like.

Orbert

Not every Beatles song, but come on, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band?

Maybe I'd recognize the song if I heard it, but on name alone, it might as well be chinese.

Orbert

Fuck, I guess I'm just too old.  I honestly would not think that anyone who listens to music would not know the song.

Also, Chinese should be capitalized.  It's a proper noun.  I know this because I'm Chinese.

Couldn't help but think of this.

Yeah, I get that shit all the time.

Nope. I'm only extremely vaguely familiar with the part where it says the title, and even then. And I'd know enough other Beatles songs.
