Just bought 3000 days (apparently very good for a best of). Some cracking tunes, Part Zero and the acoustic Tightly Unwound are awsome  :hat

Zantera

This band is just outstanding, been listening a lot to them lately.
Album-rankings are bloody hard, but I would probably rank them something like this:

1. What We Have Sown
2. Little Man
3. Tightly Unwound
4. Someone Here is Missing

Though they are all fantastic.  :hefdaddy

King Postwhore

I love 137 & Abducting the Unicorn.  Someone Here is Missing is such a dense great album that I love listening to it in my car when I'm alone to soak it in.

just returned today to TPT, specifically Variations on a Dream. "Vapour Trails," "We Subside" and "Remember Us" = yesssssss.

also "What Have We Sown?" is amazing, although i can't say i really enjoy the rest of that record nearly as much.

What We Have Sown might be my favorite TPT-album actually, followed by Little Man.
Tightly Unwound and SHIM are both fantastic as well, have not heard the earlier stuff YET.

seasonsinthesky

i actually stopped around 10 Stories Down because ... well, i dunno, i guess the band just didn't keep my attention. they still kinda don't, but if i'm in the mood, i've been considering them more and more.

are the remixed/mastered versions of Little Man and 10SD better than the originals?

and is Someone Here is Missing any good? i've really been off the wagon on this one for a while xD

King Postwhore

It is very good but is has a heavy side that's not on the early albums.  You should give it a spin.

SHIM is an excellent album. Definitely worth checking out

Agreed.

Up you go!

I finally got Someone Here is Missing and it's awesome! At first I was kinda puzzled because it's heavy and electronic and very unlike Tightly Unwound (which was the album that got me into this band) but after a couple of listens it started to click and I find it their best now.

So far I've got Little Man, Tightly Unwound and SHIM, what should I go for next?

Zantera

Get What We Have Sown asap, it's my favorite together with Little Man.  :)

Silver Tears

What We Have Sown is indeed awesome. I haven't listened to Little Man yet though  :-\

You should fix that!
It is really amazing, I'm sure you will love it. :)

Yeah Little Man is pretty great.

I've still only had the chance to listen to their new one a handful of times.  I like it a lot, but haven't really had time to absorb it.

So I kinda disappeared for a while but I did actually listen to Little Man that night, and I absolutely love it! I'm now on a massive Pineapple Thief binge, revisited albums like Variations on a Dream and Abducting the Unicorn  :heart Still haven't listened to SHIM though, I keep forgetting to get it  :-\

Zantera

Glad that you enjoyed Little Man, it's my favorite together with What We Have Sown. :)

LieLowTheWantedMan

I bought Little Man from HMV and it kicks ass. I've also heard a bunch from Tightly Unwound, all of which was boring. Guess TU ain't for me.

That was my first Pineapple Thief album so I have a soft spot for it :P

Too Much To Lose.

I think it can convince anyone. I doubt even Terminator could stay emotionless listening to it.

Zantera

Too Much to Lose was probably the last song from TU that clicked for me, but agree that it's a fantastic song.
However, I would like to shine some light on songs like "Different World", "The Sorry State", "Tightly Wound" and "My Bleeding Hand", which are my personal favorites on the album. :)

Silver Tears

Different World is my favourite from that album  :heart

AcidLameLTE

Tightly Unwound is an awesome album.

So glad that they played some songs from that album when I saw them live :heart

AcidLameLTE

Ian, Rich and I got to see them with Blackfield.

That sounds pretty awesome.
Do they often open for Riverside or was it like.. special occasion?
Since I'm seeing Riverside live in a few months, and have no idea what kind of opening act to expect, I would just be sooo happy if it would turn out to be TPT. :)

Liberation

They invited TPT and Paatos for the anniversary tour in Poland this year, it was awesome. TPT only played from Tightly Unwound and Someone Here is Missing, but all were great songs (and it's not I don't like these albums, I just like variety :P both are great though), and So We Row and Too Much To Lose was... incredible. It was so energetic, it seemed to me like they aimed simply for being honest and straightforward rather than perfect - some parts were different than on the album and maybe even some minor mistakes, but honest emotion and energy more than made up for it. I still remember him singing "Who do you think you are?!" from TMTL with much more emotion than on the album... incredible.

Zantera

Yeah, "Who do you think you are?" is such a great line.
One of the more emotion-filled parts of the song.

Liberation

Yeah, but on the album it sounds rather calm... more like resignation. Live it was much more powerful.

Also, My Debt to You live was absolutely amazing. I generally have a sentiment for it since it was the first TPT song I heard (I just listened to Tightly Unwound, since it's possible to listen to an album in a media store here and I had 2 hours of waiting :P) and it's a really nice song overall, but live they basically took it to a new level. Same goes for So We Row.
