It makes sense, but it came straight from the horse's mouth.

Well, it came from Portnoy, there was no talking horse.

I don't think MP would go back on his word, especially concerning something that most fans are so passionate about. I expect the album release in October 2011, then maybe a few dates in October/November but the bulk of touring in 2012.

Sort of like how SFAM was recorded and toured. Recording February-June and a release in late October and touring beginning in January 2012-October 2012.

The thought of waiting over a year from now for a new DT album bums me out. I'm going to have some ofty expectations for it. I gave them a pass on SC, but at the end of the day, I don't think BC&SL was significantly better. So the next one needs to be huge!
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: DTwwbwMP on October 10, 2024, 11:26:46 AMDISAPPOINTED.. I hoped for something more along the lines of ADTOE.

AZ was promised to be a part of the BCSL tour... didn't happen. Was promised they would be back sometime this spring... didn't happen. Looking like that promise might not be filled at all this year.

I believe this as well

Yeah, this is what I hope.
Nevertheless, if Mike goes back on his word here, I'll be severely ticked off.

Anyway, tour is done. And it looks like after August, cyberdrummer and I don't have much updating to do.

Same here. So would the majority of fans, which is the exact reason why I don't think MP will change his mind.

I think that the album will be released around November/December 2011, with the tour starting straight afterwards or after christmas.

Come to think of it, I think the reason the next DT album feels so far away is because there is really no more DT stuff to forward to in the meantime.
There's no live album or DVD coming out in the next year, so there's nothing to tide us over for the next year and a half. (Aside from side and solo projects...)

Of which, thankfully, there are many.

Indeed, and correct me if I am wrong, but, not counting "Raw Dog", this is the first year since 2000 in which there was no officially released DT material, be it studio or live album or concert video (and actually if you count 2000's "Through Her Eyes" single, then it's the first year since 1996). Kind of a bummer, and at this point with MP on the road with A7X, I doubt he'd have time to work on any YtseJamRecords releases for this year (although anything in time for Christmas would be AWESOME, perhaps a BC&SL Tour highlights CD? Or more soundboard shows from the past?).

I wonder what will happen to Silver Ticket holders who didn't get to use their tickets?

That's an interesting question actually.

moffatt

I'm guessing they will use the setlist they used opening for IM in the Japan shows.

Apparently it was this for both dates:

1. A Nightmare To Remember
2. A Rite Of Passage
3. Prophets Of War
4. Wither
5. The Count Of Tuscany
-----------------------------
6. Pull Me Under/Metropolis

BRGM

Wow...I'd like to see that...very good for being short imo

cyberdrummer

I was surprised how much BC&SL there was in the set though. Especially at a festival.

BRGM

yeah, only one whole song and the little medley of 2 songs that was not being BC&SL   Pretty cool

hefdaddy42

That is, without a doubt, the worst DT setlist I've ever seen.

Any chance either of those shows were filmed and or at least recorded for audio? I can see one of these being turned around for a YtseJamRecords release, at least an Audio CD. With a setlist like that, it can't be any longer than 70-75 minutes long, perfect for a single CD. It would be a good way to release all four of the songs from BC&SL that have been played live in the last year, as well as the as-yet-released-live "Prophets Of War", and a medley that hasn't been released yet (unless I'm wrong and it has and I just don't remember because I'm REALLY tired).

Give me a Japan 2010 CD by year's end and I can wait 6-8 months for a new DT studio album!

-Marc.

Pull Me Under/Metropolis was released on the Romavarium fanclub dvd, but I don't think that really counts as an official release.

6. Pull Me Under/Metropolis

The first half of the set is wasted time, and the closer is that infernal mash-up.  So, 2 decent songs out of 6.

If the set were longer, the bad wouldn't have seemed quite as bad.  But man, oh man...

Now that's a good setlist. Wouldn't have minded that set for Maiden, cut Wither to make it shorter

Mladen

Very odd set list. Four songs from their latest album, one track from Systematic chaos, and two I&W classics mashed together. I wouldn't mind seeing this show, though...
