This is not really going to affect them sales-wise. We are a minority, the bitchy internet minority who writes on a forum that talks about the band 24/7. The other 90% of their fanbase are just like any other music fans, waiting patiently until some news are released or something.

Well, the majority of this forum are pretty patient too. It's just a few people in this thread who won't stop bitching :D

if you think I'm one of the bitchers, I would argue that you are wrong. I hate the fact that we still don't have a release date, and on a dedicated DREAM THEATER website I may complain about that to a worthy degree, but overall I think Dream Theater is quite a good band :lol ... but seriously it really just doesn't affect my life that bad that we still don't have one, and DT and OTE are doing a perfectly good job with the greatest DVD ever.

No matter how long it takes, the resulting release will be mindblowing, so I'm happy to wait. :tup

If we don't get colorful video effects ala LSFNY I'll be one unhappy camper.

Think about it this way: The later it comes out, the less time you'll have between DT releases!

Also, as a fan, I'd rather the release be a little slow than rushed. Remember how it only took Score months to come out, but how they totally forgot to include backing vocals in Metropolis? LALP is at least twice as ambitious as Score, so if they need to take it slow, take it slow. And it's better to not announce a release date than do so and then have to change it.

Erm they did announce a release date. It was May 2013:

Live At Luna Park, a live concert captured on 2DVD, Blu-ray, Digital Video, 2DVD/3CD, Blu-ray/3CD, and a deluxe edition (2DVD/Blu-ray/3CD), will drop in May 2013.

They just havent bothered to acknowledge it  :-\

We (the fans) are not going anywhere. :)
We have the heart and the will and the courage to stay :azn:

Unironical quoting of the RTK lyrics by me? Probably both the first and the last time...

Holy crap! CDON.se (the biggest online music store in Sweden) is now saying that the preliminary release date for Live at Luna Park is November 4th 2013. I sure hope that they're wrong.

faizoff

Wonder if that might be the release date for the studio album. Either way I've given up any hope of actual news, I'll just not have any expectations of May like originally told and just get it whenever it comes.

Nope. They are not the only one. There's a record label forum that I frequent a lot and the owner said the same thing. That he is hearing for a Nov. release.

Kotowboy

I guess when OTE said May....

They meant....it *MAY* be out soon.

Then again it may not.

At this point, we have to understand whatever is happening. People at OTE post pictures of themselves enjoying a copy of the DVD in their living room, which means that the DVD is at an extremely advanced state, probably even completed. We got told on April 23rd by JP that he was then confident that an announcement would have come within a couple of weeks. Then we read on random websites unconfirmed release dates stating first June and then July. Three weeks pass and now we seem to have educated (?) rumors that the release date might still be half a year away from now. What the hell?  :-[

TheAtliator

There's just no way! The thing is already DONE- why the hell would they wait SIX (degrmatichaosonachristmasmorning) FREAKING MONTHS!? I don't think so.. Maybe they got it confused with the new album, but that doesn't sound likely either..

DreamerTV

There's no reason to wait that long. The DVD is ready, i can't see it coming out that late.
