Rocky would win the final fight.

Spock would be resurrected at the end of Wrath of Khan.

And Into Darkness agrees with you. :lol

If Die Hard was remade today, they would change the setting from one building to the whole USA, and there wouldn't be like 10-15 guys invading it, but 10 000 at least. And John McClane would jump from an airplane while shooting a bazooka against the bad guys, while falling in slowmotion.

Chino

The Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka are perfect examples of how bad movies can get if they're made today.

Zook

Oz the Great and Powerful was a good movie. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on the other hand was utter shit.

Perpetual Change

Agreed with Zook. Oz at least was fun.

Finding Forester would be about a young baller who teaches and old white guy how to #yolo

Bolsters

The Odd Couple would star Will Ferrell and Eddie Murphy. It would be a complete farce, not even remotely funny, and the differences they clash over would mostly amount to the stereotypical "white guy/black guy movie" stuff.

Completely different. Nimoy didn't want to come back for a third movie and Kirk had to learn what it takes to earn the captain's chair.

Haven't seen Oz and I agree about the second one.

Tum Burton's last two films were huge flops so i think people are finally tired of his ONE IDEA.

By being conveniently revived by magical blood that heals any illness and raises the dead. Damn blood was an enabler!

I miss the days of great science fiction.

Kotowboy

Meh. They only got Spock back because the Genesis planet happened to "magically" bring him back to life and they luckily managed to find him as he reached the age that he died.

You could argue that the genesis device was slotted into Wrath of Khan just to bring back Spock in the next film.

There are silly contrivances in all Star Trek films. Just because the film is brand new - it gets more attention.

Perpetual Change

Okay neither the old nor new Star Trek movies are "classics" so please let's move on... lol

Cool Chris

The Genesis device was in the script before anyone thought of brining Spock back. As the final script was written, there was never an inclination of Spock's resurrection. Nick Meyer didn't even want the final shots of the tube on the planet filmed. He was brought back because 1) Nimoy and gang had a much more enjoyable time working together on this film, and 2) Paramount saw $$ in their future.

Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

I agree.  Sadly.  At one time, I was a huge Burton fan.  He directed some of my favorite films, "Batman" (yes, THAT Batman!!!  :D ), "Big Fish", "Edward Scissorhands", "Mars Attacks!"   ;D ;D

But he has become rather one-note, lately.  I didn't care for Alice in Wonderland or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, really.  They were "okay..."   He just seems to be becoming self-indulgent in a non cool director way.

Kotowboy

My favourite Tim Burton film is Ed Wood.

And there's a big difference between a resurrection story being set up and done over the course of two movies (with one focusing solely on bringing back Spock), than just tacking it into the end of a story as a convenient way for Kirk to have his cake and eat it too.

And WTF at suggesting TWOK isn't a classic. Of course it's a classic.

If Toy Story was made these days, it would be about joysticks and NES controllers talking to each other.
