Resurrecting to recommend :tup

Dangerdoom- Collaboration between MF Doom (my favorite rapper) and Danger Mouse. Great rapping and beats, mostly based on cartoons and adult swim (including Aqua Teen Hunger Force and even Space Ghost Coast to Coast).

Recommended Songs:

Benzie Box (Really awesome beat/bass): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZM7yVtd32LQ

Sofa King: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zR2BboZeLEw

Saul Williams- Really talented rapper/poet. He's in between rapping and spoken word, but its really really good. Check out these songs:

Saul Williams is great, from the one album I've heard of him.

I downloaded one of his records when Trent Reznor was bigging him up a couple of years back...I should give it another spin

OperantChamber

Anyone here into Tech N9ne?
Him and Krizz Kaliko are pretty much the only rap I listen to anymore.

My latest rap obsessions:

GZA - Liquid Swords
(Yes, I've been trying to pimp out this album for a while, but it's still so good)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6_6E0T3wss

Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) (Always a great listen, one of the best rap groups of all time)

The Roots - Things Fall Apart
(Great relaxed rap, very chilled music)

RZA was in my town the other night, didn't find out til the night he was playing though and by then it was sold out.  I had no idea he did the music for Kill Bill.

Dimitrius

I just remember you guys need to listen to KiD CuDi.

Guys, seriously: Orphans of Cush. Try this stuff out pronto. REALLY good rap out of the UK, I can't stop playing it.

In The Wake Of Poseidon

I've been obsessed with Ol' Dirty Bastard lately. His style is unmatchable, and his songs are funny as shit.

Is it the House of Bees or something?  I listened to some of his stuff on his myspace and youtube after someone sent out that Vin Diesel song on Track of the Day.  Interesting stuff.

Sigz

Goddammit Dalek is SO FUCKING GOOD

Accelerando

I heard this song the other day, and had to download it immediately. Middle school days right here

Ya, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 chambers) is fucking ace. But any great 90's east coast hiphop is a good place to start. Pick any of Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, GZA, Public Enemy etc  :millahhhh

Tech N9ne's Blackened The Sun is a ridiculously awesome song

Arcaeus

I got Immortal Technique's Revolutionary Vol. 2 and Tech N9ne's K.O.D., and I love them both. Such a fresh, nice change after what I normally listen to.

Where do I go from here? :tup

Fucking Wu Tang. Enter the 36 Chambers and Wu Tang Forever.

Dr. SeaWolf

I listened to Immortal Technique's first two albums today... holy shit.

Super Dude

I'm curious, what do you guys think of Eminem?

Ben_Jamin

I don't mind his stuff. Better than what's on the radio for sure. haven't heard his new one

Super Dude

That's kinda why I was asking; I really like his earlier stuff, but haven't been following him since Encore.  What's his new stuff like?  I hear from everyone that he sold out, but everyone isn't always that reliable or intelligent.

Volk9

Anyone listen to Gravediggaz? Just got 6 Feet Deep, and its actually pretty good.

sneakyblueberry

Nas - God's Son.

Pretty mean.

Inspectah Deck's verse on the Wu Tang Clan song Triumph gets my vote for best rap verse of all time:

I bomb atomically, Socrates' philosophies
and hypotheses can't define how I be droppin' these
mockeries, lyrically perform armed robbery
Flee with the lottery, possibly they spotted me
Battle-scarred shogun, explosion when my pen hits
tremendous, ultra-violet shine blind forensics
I inspect view, through the future see millennium
Killa B's sold fifty gold sixty platinum
Shacklin' the masses with drastic rap tactics
Graphic displays melt the steel like blacksmiths
Black Wu jackets queen B's ease the guns in
Rumble with patrolmen, tear gas laced the function
Heads by the score take flight incite a war
Chicks hit the floor, diehard fans demand more
Behold the bold soldier, control the globe slowly
Proceeds to blow swingin' swords like Shinobi
Stomp grounds and pound footprints in solid rock
Wu got it locked, performin' live on your hottest block
