Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

One of my all-time favourites. The other two books in the series, Hollow City and Library of Souls, are good, too. But Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is the best of the series.

Just finished The Handmaid's Tale, by Margaret Atwood. Loved it, except I thought the 'lecture' at the very end ran a little too long. Other than that, the book is aces. I'll start watching the TV show now. Currently reading Rosemary's Baby, by Ira Levin.

Kwyjibo

Miss Peregrine was a fun read. But I knew the movie so I did know what to expect. Will definitely read the ither books to.

In the meantime: The Hatching by Ezekiel Boone.

splent

About 150 pages left in It. It's a great book.

Cool Chris

Just finished King's End of Watch. Liked it quite a bit. Much more enjoyable than Finders Keepers. A good, enjoyable end to the Hodges trilogy.
Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

Figured I'd read Salem's Lot by King before hitting Wolves of Calla again. Maybe get a little more back story about the Pere.

What do my fellow Tower Junkies think: should i re-read Wind Through the Keyhole while i'm work through Dark Tower again despite the story being more tangent to the DT plot?

Sacul

Hell I still haven't picked up the 5th book yet  :lol

But since I finished Wolves of the Calla I've red Another Monster: Investigative Report by Naoki Urasawa and other guy. Fascinating, deep research about the manga's event, much backstory and plot lines that were never explained. Now it all makes more sense and feels more tangible. Guess it just proves how strong the story really is and how little Urasawa could show in the manga despite being so long.

I Am Legend by Richard Matheson

That's a good one and very different from the movies.

masterthes

It was alright. The swerve at the end was interesting

Now, getting my Gothic Victorian literature on with The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins

splent

Just finished It yesterday. What a great book.

Now for the next one... I picked up Needful Things at a garage sale for FREE... how's that book?

Or I'm thinking about a different direction and reading Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. Anyone read that one?

I really liked the premise and the characters, but it goes on too long for me to put it toward the top of King's works.

It's definitely worth your time. I don't think it's top tier King, but it's almost there

I couldn't get past one chapter by how amateur the writing was  :lol

I really liked Needful Things. It's a book that really got weirder and scarier as it went on. The only thing, though, is that the ending is kinda weak---which is something King has a problem with from time to time. I'm happy you liked It, though. Not only is that my favourite King book, but it's my favourite book of all-time.

I don't know how much King you've read, but if you haven't read the following, I totally recommend:

Misery
Christine
Carrie
The Shining
Doctor Sleep
Dolores Claiborne
Pet Sematary

That is a common issue with his larger books I guess (Needful Things, Tommyknockers, Insomnia...), which is in part why I fully second your recommendations (except for Doctor Sleep)

Just finished The Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen 83 1/4 Years Old by Hendrik Groen. Very amusing and touching fictional diary of a man in an Amsterdam nursing home.
