I've been entering a serious black metal period. I like where it's taken me, and I've rediscovered some fantastic albums along the way

Crow

^well what band is that though  :lol

listening to this again for "no reason" :neverusethis:
still think the first five tracks are fantastic as well as a few others, with the rest being "pretty good" to "great" but it's a bit of a frontloaded album nonetheless

Cedar redaC

Rush- A Farewell to Kings
Rush- Hemispheres
Rush- Permanent Waves

I'll be listening to this album for no reason, too :P I'm planning to start it next weekend, and you?

I only bought that because of Yngwie. Bonnet's vocals are terrible. He's one of my least favorite singers.

There is a bonus tracks version with instrumental demos that's worth getting. Listening to it now.

Saraya - when the blackbird sings

I can listen to it and get past the vocals. It's not as bad as, say, the vocals on Watchtower's Control and Resistance. Thank you for the heads up, though. I'll still check it out.

florence + the machine - lungs
i enjoy songs from florence but apparently albums as a whole just end up boring me, oh well

Which songs do you like from this one? Have you checked How Big, How Blue, How Beatiful yet?

And save Frances The Mute for last, the best album  :hat
I am sorry for asking for advice and than completely ignoring it  But this album is amazing, it has just the right amount of chaos and beautifull sections. And the singers voice  :omg:

Train of Naught

Eh. It's more of a hype-building recommendation, there's no harm in rushing the process, in the end what matters is that you gave Frances a listen, it's indeed amazing. I can't imagine anyone getting everything out of songs like Cassandra Gemini after one full listen though, especially the moment the extended jams start clicking and you start latching onto them, it becomes truly epic.

And hearing Cedric sing in Spanish.. shivers.  :metal

Sir Walrus Cauliflower

I have a 4 day weekend, which I'm on the 3rd day of. I've listen to a decent bit.

In An Aeroplane Over the Sea - NMH

The Direction Of Last Things - Intronaut

Really digging this sort of "Arabian metal" like those last 2 albums. The Silent planet album is even more enjoyable after seeing it played live. And there are a few I've listened through I didn't post pictures of. DT's TA, TesseracT's Altered State, and 10,000 Days by Tool.

I've always loved NMH

Sacul

Funny how I went from despising them as hipster crap to absolutely loving them  :P

Sir Walrus Cauliflower

I did the same. Everybody brown nosed them back when I used Yahoo Answers ( :blush :blush) and it got old. But once I got over that I fell in love. Same goes for PT

Dark Castle

Holy FECK, this right here is a fucking force to be reckoned with.

Crow

oh yeah and i listened to the apologist again

damn, i'd call it a 10/10 album if not for a functional tumor tbh. maybe it'll grow on me so i can say it's basically the best album ever written

Already said this on your last.fm page (though you don't get notifications for that), but I'm really glad I'm not the only fan of this album on here, really love the calm vocals mixed with modern prog. Also, added you on last.fm  :metal

:metal I really like this album, it's got beautifull melodies. It's a shame their earlier albums are more death metalish than melodic prog. Their new single sounds promising though

Yeah. I love clean vocals on top of heavier/technical type stuff. It's a great album. And sweet, added you back.
