Once you reach a certain wisdom age, you don't have to be everywhere, you stay where it's nice and cozy.

Plus it's just plain bothersome to get moving.  It would take too long to break in a new forum.  :lol

So what is the deal with concert ushers, and who are these people?

King Postwhore

 :lol

So Like I said in the chat thread.  2 50 year anniversary parties to go to back to back weeks.  You know you're getting old.  Though it makes our 22 plus years of marriage seem small.

I don't have as many meetings as I could, and I'm fine with that. Though I think that will be changing in the near future. I'll be expecting weekly pow wows with my team here to begin in the coming weeks.

damn yeah. 50 years... jeepers what a thought. My anniversary is coming up in May.. I"m not even sure how many years I've been married anymore unless I do the math. Lemme see, 1993... what's that 23 years it'll be? one of these days I really need to get around to actually having a wedding. I've never worn a wedding gown or had a ceremony or anything. I would kind of like to get to do that someday.

So, I'm gonna jump back one page and almost one year, to the Hickory Farms discussion.  I know we all remember when they were an actual store in the mall, but did anyone have a HF store that made fresh and sold the pita bread sandwiches?  They'd use all HF sliced meats and grated cheeses in them, with the usual sandwich toppings and condiments.  I always got the Smokehouse, which was summer sausage and smoky bar cheese.  So damned good.

hefdaddy42

Another sign of getting older: the father of a good friend of mine recently passed away.  I am attending the funeral this afternoon.

:(

I actually like getting them for Christmas.  There used to be a store year round in the malls but now it's just seasonal around here.

Damn Hef, I'm sorry for your loss.
Well, he had been in pain for quite a while.  He is better off, but it will be tough on the family for a while.  I know, I've been there (and so have you, brother).

I don't recall ours making sandwiches, but that was a lifetime ago. I do recall it was a huge store, so I suppose there might have been a deli in there. I honestly only went in for the liquor flavored candies and they were right up front.

Been to way to many funerals for people my age (49) in the past few years :tdwn

Prog Snob

I've already told those close to me that I want The Spirit Carries On played at my funeral.

I do but I don't remember the candy. Now at the liquor store now I do see them.

splent

This was posted on FB today and I remember this. I think it's a local brand (based out of Chicago, but we had them in GB, and always got it because it was so much more cheap than Doritos or Lays)

I guess Jays in the box didn't even strike me as weird, since that's how I remember them.  I didn't think about the fact that chips don't normally come in boxes.
