luke: Pokemon – Pokemon Theme That was the best! I like Pokemon and I liked the characters. I think there was all of them. It was cool. [Have you heard that song before?] No! Score: 10 trillion

Lion! :metal

But only because of the Transformers theme.

I listened to that album a couple of times, but the Transformers theme still wins as the most badass thing they did. :lol

Lion also had a song in Friday the 13th part 4 when Crispin Glover is dancing. More useless info

The Slade cover on the second album is the best thing they did. Seemed to be a thing in the 80s to get a hit - steal from Slade  :lol

Sir GuitarCozmo

Why not?  It worked for Quiet Riot twice!

What track did they cover?

I love Trouble In Angel City  :metal

I've been curious about that release, from what I've heard it sounds very good.  Whats the Brent rating?

Never officially rated it JJ but in the 90's for sure - I think it got an honorable mention in my DTF Top 50.    The one thing with Lion is Kal Swan's voice - I never had an issue with it but it's very love/hate.   For mine it's probably Doug Aldrich's best album - absolutely blistering.

He's a bit low in the mix but listen carefully to the solo section in this........

Doug Aldrich was in Lion? Huh.

I think I may actually have Dangerous Attraction on vinyl in my attic.

That song in the youtubey thingy is actually pretty good!

Still waiting to see if Brent can find anything on Danny Waysted's YouTube channel that he doesn't know.

I missed this discussion but I am betting that there's plenty of horrible stuff that I don't know :lol I honestly cannot remember a fraction of the bands that I have sampled and rejected over the years.  I probably checked out a dozen bands yesterday but could only name the one that I liked  :)

TAC

I probably checked out at least a dozen bands today but could only name one I liked.

And in an unrelated story, I have two hours left on the 2016 podcast. :P

Actually Brent, your hard work on this is really appreciated. I'm sure it was a lot of work. I can only hope that you are building your 2017 playlist as you go.

I'm up to Universal Mind Project so far, will likely listen to an hour or two more today.

Thanks ...............yeah I do search, listen, rate, rank  as I go during the year for the most part and so that's hundreds if not thousand+ of hours that I do gradually throughout the year.  The best of 80's shows are a bigger task going back and starting from scratch in some ways as it's work that I wouldn't normally be doing anyway.

Coming up with final lists , importing/converting/equalising/mixing/editing/voice overs etc.....would take dozens of hours for a show of that size as I am just a rank beginner with the software and do it in little spurts of activity which isn't ideal.  So yes - plenty of work but feedback like yours (and my own love of the music) keeps me motivated. I never thought we would get to 8 or 9 shows to be honest.
