I have this on vinyl from release. Some good songs but never really grabbed me. Not heard it in years.

It's quite poppy, but i think it's very well done.

Train of Naught

Yesterday + this morning:

Disconnected: Still blows my mind. From what I've gathered from FW fans this seems to not be up there with the fan favourites but I fucking love it, easily my favourite of the ones I've heard.
Quiet World: The more I listen to, the shorter it seems. Really craving for more Native Construct music, I can only obsess over a <50 minute album for so long.
ECO: Probably DMM's best work so far, absolutely love Stardust and everything else is at least great.
Lykaia: Best album of the year so far, no question. Man, I'm totally addicted to this. :lol
Pure: Don't really get the Novembre - URSA comparison apart from the seemingly doomy vocals, though I think they sound more like Woods of Ypres or something. Still, I think it's pretty solid and I'll come back to it. Really, "Towards the Black Surreal" is quite good, one of the best doom metal songs I've heard in a while.
Dust and Disquiet: Starting to really dig Caspian, this is probably their heaviest album but it's pretty great post-rock nonetheless. "Arcs of Command" is one of the best songs in the genre I ever heard.

Fritzinger

I am in a total YES FEVER. Especially Live! Man, what a band!! I just listened to the majestic Firebird opening of YESSONGS, now SIBERIAN KHATRU is on. It's incredible how much energy there is in this performance!

a progressivel/doom metal band with an emphasis on atmosphere makes their first album of the decade. it's 10 songs long, and the longest track is track #8, an instrumental track. the album runs just a few minutes over an hour.

i just described novembre - ursa

but i like this one more tbh it's heavier and darker, two things that appeal to me more
maybe this will help, train
though to be fair novembre isn't very doomy but i just wanted to make the connection

Train of Naught

Okay, that makes sense lol. I was thinking the exact same thing when I found out the longest song was an instrumental tbh, Agathae is definitely the better instrumental. Instrumentation on that In The Woods album is great though, will definitely come back to it

Crow

yeah transmission krs is just okay. it's got some cool guitar work but it feels pretty stretched out

also i listened to that hacride album this morning and damn what was i thinking calling it meh the first time i heard it

awakening still the best tho, dat OUTRO

Train of Naught

 :metal nice

I don't know, I like Lazarus and Back to Where You've Never Been both for entirely different reasons so I find it hard to say which I like more. But Lazarus definitely seems more like your thing and yeah Awakenings is fanta-stick

Crow

you like straightforward alternative metal more and back to the backyard has more of a direct approach like that so yeah

got that kind of sludgy black metal sound to it that i quite dig. definitely wanna give this one a relisten, i dug it

Certainly is. Decent album actually. And no Kip Winger to distract you

Man BTBAM's debut is pretty tough to get through but it's way better than I remember. That said, I think it passed The Silent Circus in my rankings
