Taylor Swift - Lover

On my second listen now. Honestly, this is up there with 1989 as one of her best albums. idk what she was doing with those first two singles, because they are CLEARLY the weakest songs on the album. Really clever songwriting in parts, super catchy, great production from Jack Antonoff et al, and she even dropped that silly "hEy kIdS speLlInG iS fUn" part from ME! (which improves the song one hundred fold). Cruel Summer, Lover, The Man, The Archer, I Think He Knows, Paper Rings, Cornelia Street, Soon You'll Get Better, It's Nice to Have a Friend, and Daylight are the standout tracks. That's like most of the album. False God is probably my least favorite song off the album, along with the first two singles and I Forgot That You Existed. Overall 9/10, and would be an easy contender for my aoty if iamthemorning hadn't dropped an album this year.

Also, Soon You'll Get Better is one of the most heartbreaking songs I've ever heard. It's just such an exceptionally well-written song lyrically. "You'll get better soon / 'Cause you have to" from the choruses and the Verses/Bridge are just SOUL crushing, especially with the way she sings it. I've never personally dealt with having a loved one in the hospital for cancer, but honestly that doesn't matter. I still can sympathize with the song.

Ugh this album is so good

Indeed, and what a fantastic album it is! :metal I've always said Thank You Scientist sounds like a Prog Metal version of Chicago.

Big Hath:  How is that Bill Evans record?

that is one of his earlier albums and the first one he recorded after collaborating with Miles Davis on Kind of Blue.  It is also the first he made with the celebrated Evans/LaFaro/Motian trio.  I don't enjoy it quite as much as Sunday at the Village Vanguard or possibly even Waltz For Debbie, but it has some classic renditions of several jazz/pop standards such as Autumn Leaves, When I Fall In Love, and Someday My Prince Will Come.

If you like your jazz in the subtler piano/bass/drums setting, it's hard to go wrong with any Bill Evans Trio.

Nice.  That's exactly where my head was at when I asked the question.  Thanks!!!

Nicolas Jaar - Nymphs

I think I've really fallen in love with this guy's music - amazing minimalist electronic music with some microhouse and art pop elements.
