I'll be jumping from Counterparts to Clockwork Angels though.

That's cheating.

The Walrus

Wrapping this one up, came out Friday. Standard heavy/power metal, but much more entertaining than the Rage record imo, just a bigger and better sound with a better vocalist and it's just got a better grasp of that 'huge' heavy metal sound. Dig it.

TAC

I have most of their stuff Saved on Spotify. I Saved this one too. I listened to the first song, the title track. It wasn't very good, but I'll go back after the Rush Fest.

I think MP is a band I listened to back when I was like 11 or 12 and they had one or two records out. I thought they sucked and never went back; only reason I checked this out was because I have a friend who digs 'em.  There's definitely some super filler/predictable/cliché music there. I dunno how much I'll replay it, but I didn't turn it off..

I have one of their albums and it's not bad.  Couldn't tell you what it's called.  I sampled a track from this new one and it was alright, nothing special.

I think Brent may have played them on his first podcast.

Jeez, I have a lot of Rush to catch up on.
the upside of it is that it will be a great ride
All my natural instincts are begging me to stop
But somehow I carry on, heading for the top
A physical absurdity, a tremendous mental game
Helping me understand exactly who I am

I'm going to force myself into the older stuff but really just want to jump into the 80's.  I don't have long periods of times in one sitting that I can listen too so this may take a while.

I don't recall but off the top of my head..............every time I have sampled them I have been pretty underwhelmed.

Gus G was an early/original member so for Kade..........perhaps sample the first few albums.

Since I discovered Dream Evil early on, I knew Gus G was a member of this band.  I think I saw the album in the clearance section for $10 and picked it up quite excited.  Discovered it doesn't have Gus G on it haha.  I just goggled and the one I own is Savage Souls.

Guys, enough about this Guy G shit, get back to listening to Rush.

Agreed.  The fact that album got made considering where Neil was coming from is quite the achievement.  Lots of underrated moments on that record.

The Walrus

2020 releases was the flavor of the weekend, Rush being the exception:

Field Music - Making A New World
Lotus Thief - Oresteia
Rage - Wings of Rage
Mystic Prophecy - Metal Division
Apocalyptica - Cell-0
Karfagen - Birds of Passage

Lowdz

Finished my Rush marathon (minus TFE, S&A). The garden is a great place to leave it. The measure of a man indeed. The outpouring of grief for a man most of us have never met shows that. His words, music and talent left a huge mark on all of us.

Currently rereading Ghost Rider.
