I'd like the vinyl but I'll probably hold off and see how I actually like thenalbum before getting the vinyl

Architeuthis

I hope this album gets some love on the invisible airwaves,  the bright antennas will certainly bristle with the energy!  🎶📡

Ben_Jamin

Finally ordered my Boxset...

My anticipated song is Barstool Warrior.

Dellers

Gotta love the lack of competition in Norway. The 50-55 Euro boxset of the new album is over 80 Euros here. It's actually significantly cheaper to order from another country even with including shipping and customs, which is absurd. The digipack is literally twice as expensive as the regular version as well, and over 30 Euros. Somehow that extra 4 minute song is worth as much as the rest of the album combined.

I know this has nothing to do with the band, but I just have to share.

I purchased my tickets for the April 12th show in Beacon Theater, NY, during presale. I got pretty good seats, center Orchestra, Row A, aisle seats. Nowhere on my screen while buying, the ticket list, the seating chart or my physical ticket did it say that those seats where for wheel chair audience. I just received a call asking if anyone attending the show with me needs wheelchair access seats, and if not my order would be cancelled.

Now I am stuck buying bad seats tickets, or overpriced resellers. Very frustrating.

Madman Shepherd

Wow. That's ridiculous. Obviously having wheelchair accessible seats is important but the venue really dropped the ball on this.

Kind of surprised they even cared to call about this.

I've still got to get my tickets for the NYC show, all the decent seats are gone.

That really sucks :( If there was really no indication about it being an accessible seat anywhere, I would call the box office back and ask to speak with a Manager and explain the situation.

JP said on this spanish interview that they're going to release an official video for Paralyzed too :metal

Hallelujah. noxon will gets hundreds of requests when it comes now !!!!

dream75

The French fans club says that probably Paralyzed will be the next single  ???

erwinrafael

Second single of my favorite prog band last year, Icefish, is Paralyzed.

Dream Theater's second single for the new album is Paralyzed.

That's a good indicator of things to come. :p

The second single is paralyzed? That is news to me.

The interview I linked to has JP saying they're going to make/release a video for Paralyzed too. Obviously, that doesn't mean it's going to be the 2nd single, it could be the 3rd :eek

Darkstarshades

This is the first album cycle without chaossystem since The Astonishing  :-[

I'm a bit concerned that there's already talk of the second single, and we're still a good 2 months away from the album's release. Is it now Sony/IO's policy that they have to release at least half the album as singles before the album release day is here? See also Haken.

And yes, I know we're not there yet. But there's plenty of time for a third and fourth single to come.

cramx3

Yea I agree, I don't want half the album before release.  I'm not in the crowd of "I don't want to be spoiled with singles" but when you release half the album, it's not longer just the singles, it's the meat of the album.  I think it's cool if they want to make music videos but if they do so for more than 2 songs I hope those come out after release.

Having said that, I definitely do want to listen to more, but I don't want to be hyped so early that I am no longer hyped in two months when this gets released.

mikeyd23

Yeah, I think I'd be cool with one more single and that's it before the album drops.

dream75

I think the second single will be released in February and will not be Paralyzed  ;D

I'm going to agree based on noxon's response, but maybe there will still be a video for this song, just not released until later.

So i'm not sure when the review embargo is set for the album, but some big media outlets are starting to get the promo, in order to be able to conduct interviews with the band.
I would expect some more info coming out in early January.

noxon

I mean, that has been valid since november 20th...

Review embargo is probably late January - early February.

Darkstarshades

I'm amazed at the lack of information we're getting about the Mexico City show, or any show there.

You see, there's this festival called Hell & Heaven, and last year it was held early in May and exactly where the DT show is scheduled according to the website. Since the DT show is going to take place in the same spot and in roughly the same day (May the fourth be with you) than last year, it would seem safe to assume that the show will take place in this festival.

However, the festival has not confirmed anything about DT, or any band, in fact, it hasn't even released an official line-up or confirmed its own date, and it's already almost January. The official FB for the festival is fairly trolled in the comments by people that just want info about the bands, yet they're not saying absolutely anything, and in previous years we'd know something about the upcoming festival since at least November.

noxon

Well, that is unfortunately all up to the promoter for the show. DT can't announce anything without the promoter. It's always the promoter that arranges the show and the circumstances around the show.

They pretty much gave away their participation in the event before the promoter, and in fact, the promoter hasn't said anything to this day.

So for at least a month there will be no interesting news?
