So since it's not going to be the same, who's the comic version of Black Noir?

He's a clone (or twin?) of The Homelander.

I lost my shit when Maeve stuffs Black Noir's mouth with an Almond Joy and kicks away his EpiPen.  :rollin

What an awesome kryptonite moment!

My guess is that its the Cindy girl from the previous episode. She showed that kind of power and was seen leaving the facility.

My guess is it's Homelander's son. He took him from his mother earlier in the episode and we haven't seen him since.
But I'm not sure the kid has that power. Also, homie didn't seem too surprised to see all those heads exploding.

I did NOT see that coming!

AMAZING FINALE!! I think that was possibly the best episode of the entire two seasons. What a finale!

The Walrus

That was EXCELLENT. I'm going to binge season 2 this weekend. What a freaking ride. So many wow moments in that finale!!

"I CAN DO ANYTHING I FUCKING WANT!!"  :rollin

The Walrus

So, finale thoughts. Obviously, SPOILERS!!

1. "Hey, Kraut." This was such a more believable and entertaining scene than the shoehorned girl power scene at the end of Avengers: Endgame imo, and they really let her have it.

2. I really, really hope Antony Starr and/or Karl Urban get an emmy nod for their performances. The look on Butcher's face when he was considering killing the kid was terrifying and might be my favorite performance of the episode, and Homelander in those last few scenes of his genuinely filled me with fear.

3. Becca stabbing Stormfront in the eye and Ryan turning Stormfront into a roasted German chicken. Holy shit. They really went in with the damage to her body. Now, she's a supe, and clearly on the verge of death, but without seeing the body, you never know if she's actually gone for good. Same with Black Noir. He's a vegetable apparently, but I haven't completely counted these two out just yet.

4. The special effects on this show are so well done. Anytime someone's head pops, whether by telekinesis or a hand, or whenever Homelander bisects someone with his laser beams, it looks and sounds so good. The FX departments are really good at their job.

5. Fuck Fresca.

I'm not a super hero fan by any stretch, but I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Though it did seem like the societal messages were too heavily forced at times. Not saying I disagreed with a lot of the show's message, but some times it took me out of the moment. Kind of like Ed Sheeran in GOT.

Can someone fill me in on the Fresca thing though? I'm not getting it.

Just finished Season 2 and holy hell, this show is amazing. I give Amazon a lot of credit for allowing the creative team the lattitude to go 'all the way' with this one. Feels like something on par with the quality I'd expect from HBO.

Chino

This was my favorite scene:

"Fuckin' diabolical"  :lol

What a finale :D
We saw the two seasons in a row and I wonder what season 3 will be like :)

Only con to us is that the season 2 feels really slow, nearly painfully slow, but it's only 8 episodes.

On the pro, I read the comic some months ago, and it would be hard to make a better rendition of characters and story-type ! :)
Solid show to me

jingle.boy

Forgot to post in here when I finished S2 a couple weeks back.  Mother of god this is a fantastic show.  Not much to add beyond what you Boys have already stated.

Sad to see Becca bite it.  Wonder what Butcher's motivations will be now?  His very existence was always centered on finding her.  I don't think he ever really accepted that she was dead until maybe the last couple of episodes of S1, then was just hell bent on revenge for those last couple eps.  I've no doubt it will continue to be excellent though.

Started this ages ago but have been dead slow due to Mrs Action not digging it.

But just finished it this weekend. Fantastic stuff. Just an amazing show.

Finished season 1!

Gut feeling was that this was not a series for me.... dunno, the trailer, the premise, it didn't make me go "whoah I absolutely have to see this", but I figured all the fans couldn't be wrong and so I gave it a try, so it looks like everyone praising the series was right  :D

Great stuff, liked the story, the wicked humour and the pace. I don't know the source material and how much the story is original and how much is taken from the comics, but it was a tight set of 8 episodes and since I'm in my last week of Prime Video, I might as well go for the other 8 episodes of Season 2 back to back.

I'm halfway through season 2. Goddamn that whale scene  :lol

We're so used in violence in movies because our brain realizes that those are actors and they're not really dying, but usually movies and shows are more careful when violence involves kids or animals (and when it happens, it becomes the whole plot of the movie, like John Wick), so seeing the Boys ramming head on into a whale was f'kin impressive and unepected  :lol

I mean, poor whale and obviously it was CGI so they didn't kill a whale for real, but damn if it was a badass power move to ramn down the whale rather than trying to get away  :rollin

We've waited far too long.

June 3rd cannot come fast enough.  Wonder if the entire season will drop, or if it'll be a 1 or 2 episodes per week as Amazon seems to be doing more frequently.  Either way.... :giggity:

This show has conditioned me to hold my breath every time Homelander is on screen. Even if nothing happens, you still are so uneasy until the scene is done loll. Fantastic first three episodes. Hasn't lost a beat.

The Letter M

Wow, what a run if episodes. Of course tons of shocking moments that we've come to expect from the show, but I'm loving the new developments with Homelander, and exploring the previous generation of supes is really intriguing! Can't wait to see more Soldier Boy!

Also, while not intentional, I wonder if the show will catch some attention with Gunpowder and his scenes, especially in light of recent events across the US. Either way, this shows brand of topical humor and is great as satire and pointed commentary, and doesn't cross the line as to be totally offensive but I could see if some fans might feel uneasy about some of the topics explored in the show so far.

:lol   That was just beyond crazy.   I only watched an episode and a half, so I'll finish up the episodes tonight.  I am still amazed at how insane this show is.

Adami

Those were some intense first episodes.

I have to say the scene where The Deep had to eat...uhhh...let's just say his dinner, might have emotionally scarred me.
