Here are six impressions. I'll put up 7 more in a few hours. Results will be either tonight or tomorrow morning, just depending on how long it takes me to get through them.


There's a lot of stuff going on here, and while I like the core melodic concepts, I don't care for a lot of the extraneous stuff that's been added in.

There is a lot of interesting stuff going on here musically... but I think the vocal performance here is bad in several places, actually.

Wow, what a memorable voice. This song is an immediate favorite—I mean, it struck me within the first minute.

I am not particularly a fan of the style of growling used on this one. There's a lot of other stuff going on here, though, so we'll see how well that catches me.

I really like a lot of the vocal melodies here. I don't think the singer's style is the style best-suited to them, but he does at least a decent job.

Here's another set of impressions. I'll post the rankings in a bit, but the results are going to have to wait until tomorrow morning.



This is a really well-structured song that I enjoy listening to, but does not resonate with me as well as I could see it doing with others.

Of a few songs in this vein this round, I think this one may be the strongest, due to the excellent guitar work in the instrumental section.

I am not crazy about the first vocal part, but this one seems to get better and better as it goes along—and the rest of the vocals are much improved.

At first, I wasn't particularly impressed by the singer (who plays a pretty central role in this one), but as the song went along, I came to really like his performance due to its emotional power.

This is probably not quite as strong as another fairly stylistically similar song from this round, but I do enjoy it quite a bit, particularly the middle section.

I'm interested by some of the complexity of this song, though I think it's overall again something that's not quite my style. Strong finale, though.

I really had no idea what to expect here... I definitely like what I'm hearing, though, particularly those melodies that really convey a strong sense of rising (I don't know how to describe it better).
