Should the max number of artists in the EP round be increased from 4 to 5?

Yes that would be much better and Cyril is very attractive.
3 (14.3%)
No that's a terrible idea, Cyril should be stoned.
5 (23.8%)
Whatever.

Well, that's very kind Alex, but really I meant that I win the biggest prize which is discovering all this amazing music. :heart

I am really looking forward to the end of my roulette

Tell me about it.

You know I didn't even ask you to listen to every round right? You put it on yourself. You can literally stop whenever you want and let someone who actually appreciates music enjoy them!  :lol

I mean, it was a toss-up between the two really, I'm just preferring the latter so far.

Vektor was one of the bands I was maaaybe thinking of sending you but I figured they were pretty risky so they were quite low on the list. I'm not super into their two most recent albums as a whole (both of which are covered by those two songs) but their first album Black Future is :metal  :metal  :metal

Nekov

Not surprised that ATAL is your least favorite as I also think it was the weakest, but I am surprised that you like Lucy Rose the best. I would have placed my bet on one of the Gordi songs

Yeah that tracks, the longest track is your favourite and the shortest which is meant to introduce the story is your least favourite, so far so good

I really hope the thing I was going for worked which was something like "do a very intense and powerful second track like on Avantasia's The Scarecrow and then try to keep the listener interested for the rest of the record"

I like how we sent music we like and how different it is, I mean it's all still rock/metal, but I essentially sent The Big Sad which you're often so disdainful of and you sent a bunch of happy over the top power metal which I'm often so disdainful of :lol

Okay. Kind of makes sense, but you're also cheating for lumping those three tracks together (though to be fair, I have sent those three as a trio myself occasionally :p ). The entire album they come from segues as if it's one long piece.

Poor Frosthvarv though :( all the build-up for nothing. (Unless 'least best' still is 'quite awesome'). Now I wonder how the rest ranks, but I'm feeling your ranking is going to be like this:

1. The three Obsidian Kingdom tracks
2. Alsaela
3. Last of the Light
4. Hon Syndrast
5. The impossible Icelandic title
6. Frosthvarv

1. Brother's Blood
2. Scorpion Hill
3. Good News
4. Ladies and Gentlemen, We are Floating in Space
5. Shooting Star
6. The Killing Moon
7. In the Ghetto

i like them all a lot tho but In the Ghetto is the one I did replace on my director's cut of the EP lol
maybe my chances of a better score would've gone up with the original EP i had before i changed the theme but idc i like the theme on mine a lot

According to these rankings, you could say my EP goes downhill after the first track :lol

Train of Naught

Crap! Raketkanon (and ESPECIALLY the song Fons) is sooo love or hate. The fact that you like that one least (easily my favourite of my EP) tells me you hate it  :corn

And bridge burner your favourite, but the fact you didn't like Cave In much tells me that's also maybe a bit meh.. hmmm

Evermind

Man I'm really hyped that you thought my Lee Abraham track was the weakest because it's mostly just a transitional piece/opening and while I think it's excellent I do think it's the weakest of the four. Because of that I think my EP might've worked exactly as I thought it would which makes me giddy as hell

It's funny because honestly the only miserable song from my EP is the Oceans of Slumber one. Well, that one and the outro. Remedy of My Heart has those miserable undertones but it could be easily put into a happier story, and Feather Moves is outright uplifting actually. But yeah, since the story was intended to be gloomy from the beginning, it pretty much pushes you to regard the songs in this way.

For my next EP, I think I should do something happier for a change.

Well I said it earlier but I was expecting Judgement Day to be the weak link due to the soft abrupt middle section with the falsetto that almost all but the most diehard of power metal fans (and/or Andre-era Angra worshippers) would tolerate. Or, barring that, There And Back Again for the sheer maximum power metal cheese and wizard narration  :lol

It's basically the most uplifting song on my EP and it was the spark which started the whole story, except it represents the man who has recently died leaving his family behind and he's just flying like a discarded leaf on the wind with no purpose and no concerns before he has his final moment of consciousness ("who are you?" at the end of the song begins that sequence) where he sees his wife saying goodbye to him at his funeral

I think it would be fair to say I took some non Sad Boi Prog songs and turned them into the Sad Boi Prog songs :lol
