Odd request here...

I'm trying to find a musical on DVD or blu-ray. It's called Tanz Der Vampire.

I'm thinking a purchasable recording might exist because this exists:

I'm having a really hard time trying to find it on Google, and I'm wondering if my region could be messing with the results.

If anyone here lives in Germany and wouldn't mind doing a quick search for me, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I searched from a Frankfurt VPN and Amazon has a couple of listings for it, in stock. However, they won't ship to the US.

Sorry. Didn't notice the DVD/BR part of your post. This was for the CD.

edit: See if this isn't what you're looking for. Also, the same thing seem to also be known as Le Bal des vampires .

Thanks for checking. Much appreciated. I'll give that a look  :tup

Try Discogs as well; there's a broader international spread to the various products.  You might just have to have a specific version in mind, though if you do.   (And Discogs will do DVDs and Blu-rays as well as CDs).

I'm from Germany and my wife is a big fan of said musical, she's seen it countless times. But as far as I know, there is no official DVD or Blue Ray. There are audio recordings and the film by Roman Polanski, on which the musical is based, but no visuals for the musical.

Thanks for the insight everyone.

Jealous. There's nothing like it over here. There was an attempt at an American adaption a while back, but it was a shit show. They called it quits after 50 something performances, and the show ended up losing something like $12M.

I've checked around a few Jim Steinman fan groups, and you're correct in that there's not official release. Apparently there was a high production version (akin to Hamilton on Disney+) filmed for a television broadcast, but it never aired. The first 30 minutes are on Youtube, but the audio is awful.
