I had Monument at #14. This song is as most of Inside Out, a very good song. But it's that instrumental part that really makes it. Without it, I'd probably have it around 30.

Monument - not at all surprised this song finished so high but for me this was only 46. I just find it really hard to get into the Inside Out album and I think because of that I have probably underrated this track over time but I do acknowledge it's greatness, especially musically but some much better production would help.

Yes, this thread is spotlight city! If Kev was running this thread nearly everyone would be banned and the countdown over. I do think it does spoil it a bit to talk about unrevealed songs before they turn up even when it is obvious what they are, which is why I haven't commented on any of the 'early reveals'. It just makes it feel like there is no point in waiting anymore, apart from the order I guess.

Since I've been away from DTF for so long, I haven't actually participated in this sort of Top 50 countdown before, so I hadn't realized there was an unspoken rule on avoiding talking about unrevealed entries! If Jim Matheos were a Dungeons & Dragons character, there is NO question that he would be a true neutral, and the lyrics to this song (and others on TOF) make it clear.  This song is awesome.  Nice clean electric build up with a great vocal from Ray.  They kick it up to another gear around the 3:00 mark and the song doesn't let up.  Along with From the Rooftops, this is another one of the best choruses in Fates's catalog.  I had this song at #8 – two spots behind Rooftops for my #1 song from Theories.  And I'm a little surprised that only one person had it in the #1 spot.

The Light and Shade of Things - number 6 for me. Great to see this song so high, as I said in an earlier post I do feel Theories of Flight is underrepresented overall in the countdown so at least this is some redemption. Interesting this song made every list as I think we have one person in the countdown who doesn't like this album at all? Like most of this album, there is just some amazing guitar work on this song and a great vocal by Ray.
