luke: Pokemon – Pokemon Theme That was the best! I like Pokemon and I liked the characters. I think there was all of them. It was cool. [Have you heard that song before?] No! Score: 10 trillion

Steven Wilson - Hand. Cannot. Erase.

Just realized how fantastic this album is.

What was the best track or two?  I sampled a few and I didn't think it was for me, but maybe they were the wrong ones.

Hard to say.  The album is pretty varied.  It sounds like it was recorded by 3 or 4 different bands lol

My faves were Dumbest Girl Alive, Hollywood Baby, Billy Knows Jamie, One Million Dollars, and I Got My Tooth Removed.

Incidentally, I sent One Million Dollars to my youngest (20 years old), and they responded, "100 gecs is the absolute last thing on earth that I expected you to send me."  Turns out that's a favorite band of their significant other.  So at least I won some cool points yesterday lol

Kamelot - The Awakening
Well, that's enough of that.

I try power metal again every couple of years.  Nope, still don't like it.

And that's enough of THAT, as well.  Music is OK, but can't stand the singer.

First two albums are great, but based on the singles for the next one I'm worried they could start slipping.

Today's commute...

Mastodon's latest is so good - revisited it after a little while, my favorite since Crack the Skye, no doubt. Also enjoying the rediscovery of In Mourning. Afterglow is another good one from them. Tristania Widow's Weeds is a nice late-90s slab of gothic/doom metal (love the Fields of the Nephilim/Sisters of Mercy 80s fest in Angellore...a bit different than the rest of the album). And Dreamgrave's record is super-cool (have they done anything else after this?)

Yes, they released an EP a few years ago. In fact, I sent a song from it to Litho in his roulette's current round.

I actually listened to it based on the singer's looks (🥴🙄) but I really enjoyed it and ordered the CD.

Well, it really is only the one song. The rest is quite different...more like Theatre of Tragedy and the like. Still quite good!

I think it's a really cool album. I wish they had more material. I really like them.

Those bird masks are still such a weird gimmick for them to have, it's not like they're Slipknot.

Awaken

Not full albums, but more like recent album teasers:

Another Celebration at the End of the World - Mammoth WVH
Excited to hear more, this is a great tune!

Rise - Extreme
:omg:
I had no idea how much I was missing Extreme, this song is fantastic and Nuno's solo is insane

Winner Takes All - Nita Strauss
Pretty good, I enjoy her playing a lot - this one is no exception

Another great Motörhead album. Only need to listen to Snake Bite Love and I will have listened to their entire studio discography.
