I know there are a number of people around here, incuding myself, who use Spotify.

Even just for making playlists.

So it is good to know when something is added and also when something you'd hope would be on Spotify, but is not still.

The Neal Morse Spock's Beard albums come to mind among others.

So I just figure it might be worth having a Dedicated Topic about when Albums/Music/Artists get added to Spotify, someone can reply and let others know.

And maybe even more so, WHAT MUSIC IS STILL NOT ON THERE, etc.

------------------

One of the most recent WISHLIST albums for me that showed up was
dredg's album "The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion."
So now if I wanted to make a 2009 Songs playlist I can add songs from that album, etc.

I mean it doesn't matter if it's really well known or super obscure (like a lot of the music I love).
The likes of Apes & Androids/Call Florence Pow, and much of Kevin Gilbert's/Kevin Gilbert's bands are still not on Spotify, although the Estate claims they should be, which may happen after the final physical item they sell is released, the Multi-Disc The Shaming of the True which is expected soon).

So ,What Albums/Music do You wish was on Spotify that is currently NOT?

Almost the entirety of Devin Townsend's discography is missing in a lot of countries, including mine. At least I have The Hummer...

HOF

Kite Parade - The Way Home (one of my favorite 2022 releases, but you can't stream it).
Ske - Insolubilia (one of my favorites from 2021, also not streaming).
Half of Camel's catalog isn't available on streaming services.
Sweet Billy Pilgrim - Crown and Treaty is not available on streaming services for some reason (everything else by them is).

Thanks Santa! Gamma Ray's Somewhere out in Space, Power Plant, and No World Order are on Spotify! Now only Majestic is missing.

About damn time!

On topic, all the stuff Manowar has released after, like, Louder than Hell is missing from and never was on Spotify, I think. Hail to England also missing. Something to do with Magic Circle Music being totally against it or whatever? All the Atlantic albums are on there.

The big one for me is Neal Morse-related stuff.  The most recent releases are on there, but if all of Morse-era SB, NM solo stuff, earliest TA, and NMB stuff was there, I would be a happy camper.

Wishlist:

VENNART and some of the Oceansize albums

I imagine Vennart himself isn't a fan of Spotify, but it still kind of sucks given a lot of new fans could be made both from Vennart's music and the Oceansize albums not there: Frames, Home & Minor and Self Preserved while the Bodies Float Up (+ Feed to Feed for that matter).

Also to add: British Theatre, there's nothing as well.

If Mike Vennart hates Spotify like some artists do, sadly, this stuff may not show up, ever.

Persona by Karnivool, also the Set Fire to the Hive EP coz I'd love to have the version of Roquefort with the horn section.

King Postwhore

Echolyn  Self Titled. 2012. Only album of their's not on Spotify.
"I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down'." - Bon Newhart.

It shouldn't matter whether the artists like Spotify or not. The simple truth is that it is THE main way that most people consume music in this day and age. So if artists decide not to go on there they're missing out on the biggest means of exposure for their product.

bump.

so I've started a lot of playlists recently for the Songs of the Year stuff, and am finding more and more albums not on there, either they were never on Spotify, or they were and they were pulled.

Or in some cases like The Mars Volta's Frances the Mute, the version with the long pieces as 1 track went away, and reuploaded with movements (so they can get more $?, of course they likely get next to no money anyway from Spotify, lol).

so those 2 Oceansize albums, Frames and Self Preserved are apparently going to be back on Spotify soon.

QuoteGreetings. Because so many people won't shut the fuck up about it, I'll be putting the last 2 Oceansize records back online as soon as I get a minute. Honest.
There's been a lot of questions about those records' absence from DSPs. Simply put, the rights reverted back to us, the band, and so were taken down by the former owners, Superball. Whilst I - and we - do wish to preserve the legacy of the work, it's certainly not a priority to give the music away for 0.00001p per play. Nevertheless, sorry if we inconvenienced you.
Similarly, I'm not hogging the keys. It just appears no one else from the band gives much of a toss either, so it's on me. Sorry, one and all. Really.
Pending a couple of other issues - missing artwork being one of them - they'll be back with you soon.

Also Lehto & Wright's prog masterpiece 2010's "Children's Songs" and the rest of their catalog I was off by not being on Spotify, per the spelling "Lehto And Wright"

Fuck yeah, come back to me Frames.

Has Neal ever talked about why his older solo stuff isn't on Spotify?
