I made a prediction the other day with 11 bands/artists left and so far I'm 3 for 3.

that being said, if these are all correct, than there were some pretty big snubs considering some of the names that made the list already.

I wasn't around for submitting my list but I'll play a bit:

The D would be in my Top 5, so alright
The G in my Top 20 but I understand
Ditto the I
The M in Top 30 but can't argue
The P Top 5 again
The other P can't compute unless we're talking about Prokofiev
The R is just appropriate for this forum, can't argue

After many the results thus far had been starting to worry a little that Queensryche would miss out but once Fates Warning was announced ( ) I was convinced they were still to come and in the Top10 at that

Clearly my own #1 so won't go on (and well done too ZoomE), but while there were way too many hit & misses after DeGarmo even most the subpar albums had plenty to chew on and concur the Todd era has been rather great so much so Digital Noise Alliance is arguably my fave QR release since their heyday...

But will always stand by everything from the EP through Promised Land, each one of those still deliver to this day and continue to stand up to anything since IMO!

They're kind of a fascinating case where you would think they should be more popular here.  After all, they're a prog metal band with almost 2 million monthly Spotify listeners.  In comparison, Symphony X is 150k, The Dear Hunter is 145k, Agalloch is 100k, Big Big Train is 20k, etc.  I could still see them even making the top 100, but they don't seem to have quite as much appeal to tastes here.

Surprise they don't make the Top 50, or Top 25?  I could see them making the Top 50, but I'd be more surprised if they *did* make the top 25.

Regarding Gojira and the like, it's a funny thing, we get accused of being a bunch of old fogeys around here yet look at all the modern metal bands on the list that are faves of a younger generation. I personally cannot get into that sound at all, it's like they either intentionally or unintentionally misunderstand what made all those classic metal bands great and replace it with obnoxious vocals and metalcore riffs. So there's actually an even mix of older and newer bands.

As for the G I believe is refered to I only ever bouught a single. Not one of my favorite bands....
