I wish I could have gone to that but alas UK is quite a bit away.

I'm holding out hope that they will be one of 8 bands at the Progressive Circus 2024 2 day event in Malmö.

Bought early bird tickets before any bands were released because I know the promotor and everything he has done so far has been interresting.

Missed the 2016 event with IQ but have seen them three times in Stockholm thanks to PC , 2017, 2019 and 2023.

I know Marcus really loves IQ and with a new album on the way will surely have at least tried to get them on board.

One of 8 bands have now been revealed. I had not listened to Agusa before but love what I'm hearing.

Next band to be revealed will be an internationally acclaimed one.  Holding out hope....

IQ announces for Cruise to the Edge next year.

Do we need to make a CTTE 2025 thread?  This is shaping up to be an amazing lineup.  Haken, IQ and Steve Hackett have all been announced. I'm starting to wonder if I can incorporate this into a visit with the granddaughter about the same time.

lonestar

I doubt I'll make it, a bit pricey for me on top of PPUSA, but it's not a hard no.

BUMP!!!

The Weekender gig is being released as a 4-disc set:

Also, their official Facebook page just reported that that are busy recording the new album. Which means that *IF* I'm able to pull off the trip to CTTE in 2025, they will have had the new album out by then!!!

:panicattack:

First day buyer. Absolutely love this band.

When TRoB was released, I found myself kind of in a spell that lasted over a year. Last night, after a couple years of leaving it alone, I put the headphones on and enjoyed an immersion spin. Just as breathtaking as it was years ago. Top 5 all time album for me.

I also saw what appeared to be a posting from the band/team stating that fans who attended a couple shows back in April could buy the new album before its release? I have seen nothing else about this. Can anybody confirm that they sold their new album at live shows?

Been on an IQ kick again lately and I have been aware of their Bandcamp for some time as that is where I picked up some of the rarer releases. Within the last 2 weeks somewhere, I stumbled upon another Bandcamp page of theirs that I had no idea existed. It contains all of the Archive releases.

Bought the 2 Frequency Tour releases and IQ40. Listening to IQ40 now. I picked it due to the setlist difference from most of their other live albums and Scrape Across The Sky, which is a favorite to listen to now. I also noticed several Menel tracks there. I checked out his albums and did not like what I was hearing, for the most part.

Anyway, nice to see I can get the Archive stuff. Had I been a fan a few years ago I would have been all over that collection they put out.

The Menel albums don't get enough love.

Yes, there are 2-3 tracks from each album that are blatant attempts at radio airplay, and a couple of those aren't very good, but the rest of the songs are fantastic 80s neo-progressive. So from there, it just depends on which album has the pop songs you don't mind as much.

On the progressive scale both albums strike me as a pretty well crafted attempt to do what Genesis was doing about that time, and if you take it in that context I feel like it really works. It's a style somewhere between Genesis' self titled and Invisible Touch.

From Nomzamo, I particularly like No Love Lost, Human Nature, and the title track.

But I personally think Are You Sitting Comfortably (produced by Terry Brown) is the much better album. Nostalgia/Falling Apart at the Seams is by far my favorite, but War Heroes and Wurensh are fantastic as well. And I think the pop songs from this album are a bit more pleasant as well. In fact I quite like Drive On.

jammindude

In fact, I would put Side 1 of AYSC among the greatest 80s progressive pop sides ever.

It's "Asia's debut album" good.

I would love Bones on vinyl. I'd go for the red. Not sure if I will pull the trigger on this. Tad pricey.
