TAC

Quote from: hefdaddy42 on October 15, 2024, 10:49:46 AMHe was standing on something or was wearing platform shoes.  That fucker isn't 5'8".  First time I met him, I thought I might step on him and hurt him.  I seriously considered just putting him in my pocket for safe keeping.

Ok. He was definitely shorter than me and I'm only 5'10". Closer to 5'6" maybe?
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

Quote from: nobloodyname on October 14, 2024, 01:11:46 PMYup, I alluded to that yesterday. The idea that there's more pro-MP propaganda on social media than there is pro-Mangini is just simply untrue. And, frankly, both sets of fans could do with piping the fuck down.

Really?

I confess that, apart from DTF, I haven't followed much recent discussion in English.

But in Spanish or Portuguese, it's not even close. The "pro-Mangini" propaganda doesn't even reach 5% of the comments (a somewhat sloppy estimate) of the videos I've watched.

At least, yeah.

He's a tiny, tiny person.
Quote from: BlobVanDam on December 11, 2014, 08:19:46 PMHef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Quote from: TAC on October 15, 2024, 10:43:55 AMI have a pic with Mike Mangini and he's probably 5'8".
When I took a picture with the band, MM seemed almost a foot shorter than me, and I'm 6'2". My guess is that he is around 5'4" - 5'5" or so.

As a straight man...I'm not against it lol
Since we're doing this.  When I got into the band...

Stadler

I'm 5'8" for those that have met me. TAC and Long are both taller than me, but not a foot taller.

I would have gone with Liam Neeson, but what Adami said.

We'll compromise on Liam Hemsworth.

Quote from: MoraWintersoul on October 13, 2024, 08:55:26 AMDreamsonic was a misstep - you can't count on DT fans to show up in huge numbers on a second leg of a tour

unless it is ORLANDO which was pretty full.  still mind blowing that Orlando always does well but we are not getting them on this tour

OK. Here's when I got into them:
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

All my natural instincts are begging me to stop
But somehow I carry on, heading for the top
A physical absurdity, a tremendous mental game
Helping me understand exactly who I am

Not sure, but clearly he didn't get the memo that it was black shirt day!  :lol

Other than MP, MM and JMX who are somewhere in the 5'6-5'8 range (and maybe I'd even put MM around 5'5), none of them are *that* short. They're under six feet but they hover around the average male height for their ethnicity.

Below 5'8 is manlet status...I don't make the rules  :rollin

I was really surprised when I met MP with the Winery Dogs how small he was. I don't mean that as a dig against him, I think his aura, talent and personality make him seem larger than life.

It's really quite something how society is still okay with being heightist. Some of the things that have been said in this thread... imagine if those remarks had been made about so-called protected characteristics.

On the plus side, at least I don't have to dust the tops of cupboards.

^^^. Not really for this thread, but I've said that before a couple times in the Lonely Hearts thread.  When I got divorced, I was reasonably good looking, had a decent amount of spare coin, and could start and hold a conversation.  I used dating apps (well, Match) because I didn't really know what else to do.  In my estimation, I got shut out by "not 6'0"" more than all other things combined, including being a single dad.  Even my wife, with whom I've been with literally since our first date, made the joke that "she'd have to give up heels for this to work".

I mean, it is what it is, but I can see substituting other things in for "height" and creating a real shitstorm.  Doesn't seem right, especially since I can't really change it but for an inch or two here and there.

I hope that's not directed at anything I said, as I wasn't trying to insult anyone. And if I did, I apologize.

Oh, mate. I hear you. The number of profiles that start with, "I'm looking for a tall man". We all have preferences, I get that. But self-select. Just don't reply, simple. I thought being 5'6 it'd be easier being single at 50 than 38 because most of us are no longer looking to procreate at that age. But nope! :lol I could write a book about online dating, seriously. (Although I luckily found someone who didn't care about height about six months ago!)

It's a little sad to see the term "manlet" being used, or reading someone ought to have been placed in someone's pocket for safekeeping. Sure, I get the humour, but try walking a mile in our (undersized) shoes

Anyway, sorry all for the OT stuff.

I'd have imagined he set up a table somewhere popular with a sign that said "I'm not the right guy for you, prove me wrong." Or something.
