I wouldn't mind that actually. I've always welt it was a shame they played the self-tilted card already and it had absolutely nothing to do with the band name. A self titled song is an interesting idea as well.

I rather hope the full album is dream-themed though. There's so much to explore that only a song would feel like the concept was short changed, to me at least.

Well since we're.... daydreaming about the album, a concept could justify the exploration of various musical styles. For example the "nightmare song" could be the heaviest and fastest. The REM song a crazy instrumental. The peaceful slumber a '70s inspired, Floydish mellow piece. Stuff like that.

Man, I've been away from the forum for a bit, but these new teasers with the band members opening their eyes really grabbed my attention. The whole "eyes opening" thing makes me wonder if they're trying to suggest some kind of awakening or continuation. With all the talk about Metropolis Part 3, I wouldn't be shocked if they're connecting it back to that. The themes of Scenes from a Memory could definitely fit with the vibe they're giving off.

That said, I'm not sure I want to jump straight to the idea of a Metropolis Part 3 just yet. Scenes is such a massive album in their catalog, and revisiting that story would be a huge move. Then again, it's Dream Theater—we know they're always up for something bold. It'd be interesting to see how they would handle those characters and themes now, especially with how their sound has evolved. Either way, I'm hooked on these teasers, and I'm really curious to see where they're going with it. Feels like we're in for something special

Distorted reality, Dreamscape requiem and The closing curtain are such great song titles for DT.
The others have already been used in one way or the other for previous albums.

I'm guessing after the last teaser (whether it's MP's tomorrow, or some other one on Thurs or even Fri), when the Majesty symbol pops on screen at the end, it will slowly fade away leaving only the III and we'll get our Metropolis Pt III confirmation.

Ok, I added in everything we found out. Btw, my guess is that these five lines are a line that James will sing during the first single. (with the final line being followed by a melody or other instrumental bit where he won't sing)

this is something that always popped up during every album cycle I've been timelining btw. It was only a matter of time when it would happen again. Pun not intended, but we'll take it.

Regarding the negativity around a potential Metropolis Pt 3: it's a little weird to be disappointed in a record you haven't even heard yet.

Still not so sure it's Met. 3, but the fog could be a reference to Regression's "Lost in the haze of a dream" lyric.

With regard to Metropolis Pt. 3, I for one am excited to learn about the third dancing turtle.
